Custom and quality built 1930 Model A Ford sedan Street Rod (Murray body 4-door). Power comes from a 390 cu. in. ‘FE’ Ford Big Block engine, backed by a C6 3-speed automatic transmission, and 9” Ford differential. It is an all-steel Ford except for the front and rear fenders.

According to the present owner, the builder had a wager that a FE motor would not fit in a Model A. So, he did it, and as you can see many hours were spent in engineering and building this Street Rod to make it both unique, reliable, and fun to drive.
The rebuilt 390 FE engine has been treated to a Barry Grant 650 cfm carburetor, Edelbrock Performer 390 intake, Crane hydraulic cam, with an MSD distributor and ignition. The shrouded custom radiator with the electric fan keeps the Big Block Ford cool along with a transmission cooler. The C-6 transmission is basically stock except for the Lokar shifter and the 9” Ford differential runs 3.00:1 open gears.
Underneath, the suspension starts by using a ‘boxed’ stock frame with a Mustang II independent front end with coil over shocks and rack & pinion steering. The rear is held in place using a 4-link system and new coil overs.
The 20-gallon gas tank is a custom-made unit mounted on the left side of the under carriage while the mufflers are stacked on top of one another to save on space and ground clearance. Stopping power comes from 4-wheel non-power disc brakes. The Model A rides on 15” chrome 5-spoke wheels with Starfire radial tires measuring 205/65 front & 235/75 rear.
The interior features a beautiful wood instrumentation panel housing VDO speedometer, tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure, voltmeter, fuel, and clock. There is also a fully functional AM/FM/Cassette player with dual speakers. The gray velour cloth seats and headliner are tastefully appointed and include a 6-way power driver’s seat. The tilt steering column comes from a late model Thunderbird.
One of the only exceptions to this all-Ford Model A is the paint. It is a GM Victory Red 2-stage urethane. And even after being applied over 20 years ago, it still looks great and brings home “First-In-Class” trophies.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for more than 20 years and maintained a 100% rating during most of that period. Approximately 12 years ago, I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles on the Internet without them leaving the garage.
